Updated: Practising rune-casting

Hervald fled from the Lonely Mountain when Smaug attacked, and made his home in Ered Luin. He used to be a cook, but has now started to learn the art of the rune-keeper. He is wearing a green robe with details in violet and gold, and a lovely cloak with embroideries on it, trying to look older and wiser than he is.

Here are new pictures of Hervald’s rune-keeper outfit. I usually don’t like robes, because I think they make my toons look fat, but the dwarves look short and broad anyway, so I decided I could give Hervald a robe:) I still think it looks good, I didn’t make any changes to this outfit. The cloak is a favorite of mine, I really should use it again.

Hidden areas of Bree

I was running through Bree-town some days ago and suddenly spotted my kinmate Viz on top of a building. I asked him how he got there, and he showed me how to jump up on the roofs of Bree, and down into some hidden areas that can’t be accessed “normally”. Here are some screenshots from the hidden yards of Bree 🙂

Ah, Dol Amroth is as beautiful as Minas Tirith

Evelara spent some time in Minas Tirith before going on her adventures. Being of noble birth, she stayed at the court of the steward, and tried to get accepted into the Citadel Guards. When that failed, she decided to make her own fortune. She got herself a nice set of armour, in blue and gold, saluted Boromir, who had given her some good advice, and took off. She is visiting Dol Amroth this lovely summer day.

My champion in her Gondor-outfit. I changed some items, but I’m not sure it improved much. I like this outfit, even though it bothers me that the sleeves are so chunky, it makes her look clumsy somehow.

Goblins!

Glindra has always wanted to go on adventures, and she is now in the Ered Luin Region, where a nice elf has taught her the ways of a warden. Eager to serve, she has enlisted with the dwarves of Gondamon, where she is looking out for enemies atop the walls. She wears some sturdy armor for protection, with a nice helmet as well.

The Blue Stone Garrison

Hervald fled from the Lonely Mountain when Smaug attacked, and has been living in Ered Luin since then. Today he is visiting his friends in the Blue Stone Garrison in Thorin’s Hall. He is wearing chainmail over a white woollen shirt, sturdy boots and a warm cloak and hat.

What should I do next?

Thodo is in Bree, trying to practise his burglar skills. He has found the shadiest part of the town, and has dressed in grey to blend in with the shadows.

Wonder what those two are up to?

A burglar needs something to wear when doing his business. I haven’t yet figured out if Lotro burglars actually are criminals, or if they are more like Robin Hood, or if they only do tricks on orcs and other enemies. Either way, Thodo needs to practise his tricks, and I gave him an outfit in grey and black, to help him blend in. I decided to keep the outfit as it was, only tried taking better screenshots, which is a tricky balance in this case, between  enough light to see the outfit properly, and enough shade to make it look like he is sneaking in the dark 🙂

There is a party at the inn, but Glindra is not happy. She is in love with a particular hobbit lad, who unfortunately does not return her feelings. He prefers to talk to his friends. And wearing her best dress and cloak is not helping at all!

My hobbit girl in her party outfit. As I wrote in the original post, I made up the unhappy love story while taking screenshots, and I kept the story this time too. It’s a funny thing to dress a hobbit girl in a sleeveless dress, her arms look very chubby all of a sudden :P.

Alright spider, your last moment has come

Danvien has lived in Mirkwood most of her life, and every now and then she goes hunting. The number of spiders has grown too much recently, and she has decided to go out and do something about it. She has dressed in murky green to blend in with the shady trees.

There might be a nest somewhere…

Danvien is from Mirkwood. Once called Greenwood, it wasn’t always corrupted, but now it is overrun with spiders and other things. When i made the outfit, my inspiration was the dye rather than any particular pieces of clothing. I just felt like an outfit for a murky place had to be ranger green, so I tried out different items in that color, of course bearing in mind it had to look like a hunter’s outfit. This is what I ended up with, and I think it’s quite nice and also very elvish. At some point I might improve it, but right now I didn’t have anything in my storage that would have made it better. The Mathom Society horse looked really good with this outfit, I discovered 🙂

There is the waterfall I think

Mimbaril is exploring the lands north of Bree. He has heard about a beautiful waterfall that is well worth a visit, and he is on his way to it. He wars practical clothes in burgundy and green, with sturdy boots and a light cloak.

I feel so elegant in my new clothes

Ingwyn isn’t only studying when she is visiting Bree. She has also gone shopping, and is very eager to try on the fashionable city clothes, so different from the rather rustic stuff she used to wear back home in Rohan. She has found a nice set with a skirt over leggings, a nice jacket and a fabulous cloak.

I want one of those apples over there, how much are they?
